Mission
The mission of The Birthing Room Foundation is to build bridges that connect, educate, and empower people to discover and fulfill their God-given purpose. Through lifelong learning, meaningful relationships, practical support, patience, and perseverance, we walk alongside individuals on their journey toward recovery, personal growth, and purposeful living.
Vision
The vision of The Birthing Room Foundation is to cultivate a Christ-centered, barrier-free community where people are empowered to bring their God-given visions to life through meaningful relationships, collaboration, and access to others working toward similar goals. We envision a diverse community that welcomes people of every nationality, race, gender, educational background, social standing, and economic level. Guided by the compassion of Jesus in Matthew 25:35–40, we seek to meet practical needs, restore dignity, and create opportunities for every person to discover purpose, build meaningful connections, and fulfill their vision.
Why this work
Any adult in Memphis can know exactly what they need and still hit a wall. Good plans sometimes stall out. We are here to help connect adults and children with new doors of opportunity that will help them take their necessary next steps.
Most people don't need another lecture. They need one person who answers, and one honest next step.
What we do
Help with the everyday things that stall a family: food, household basics, school supplies, and pointing people to the right local agency instead of a phone tree.
For parents, children and caregivers who need something specific now.
Steady, patient guidance for the skills that carry someone forward — planning, follow-through, and knowing who to ask through our Sisters' Mentorship Program
For anyone rebuilding, restarting, or growing into a vision.
Introductions between people and organizations working toward similar goals, so effort isn't duplicated and nobody works alone.
For churches, nonprofits, small businesses, and volunteers.
Recovery and personal growth take time. We stay in the relationship past the first conversation, with patience and perseverance.
For people who need someone who won't disappear.
What makes us different
Every nationality, race, gender, educational background, social standing, and income level is welcome here. There is no membership test and no version of you that you have to become first.
We work the way Matthew 25 describes: meet the practical need, restore dignity, then keep the relationship. Patience and perseverance aren't slogans on the wall — they're the method, because the changes that last are slow ones.

The Foundation exists to build bridges — to connect, educate, and empower people to discover and fulfill their God-given purpose. That happens through lifelong learning, real relationships, and practical support, in that order and over time.
The work is local. Memphis families, Memphis churches, Memphis organizations, sitting in the same room and figuring out who can do what.
When I heard the Holy Spirit say the "Birthing Room" I had no idea what a birthing room meant or what it represented. I understood the term but didn't know how that was applicable to my life.
After much prayer, God began to unfold what the Birthing Room was being birthed to do and after some time and preparation, a clear vision, purpose, mission and mandate was given.

Proof
At Our Hannah's House, we thank God for the incredible blessing of The Birthing Room. When we first launched our Christian outreach, they stepped out in faith with us by providing our very first donation. Their kindness continues through the fundraisers they host to champion our mission. This vital support has allowed us to extend a lifeline to over 300 women and children facing homelessness and domestic violence in the Dallas area. We are profoundly grateful for their partnership, their prayers, and the real impact they help us make every single day.
